Health & Safety Assessments
We offer thorough health and safety assessments of trees. This informs our clients of the options available to them. The risk assessment process is a systematic approach to identify potential hazards, estimate their probability of occurrence, and assess the associated consequences.
Everything You
Need To Know
The Clients Duty
The Duty of Care requires tree owners, those responsible for managing the trees and the inspector to take reasonable steps to ensure that their actions do not cause harm to any persons who may be affected. This includes taking reasonable steps to identify any potential risks associated with the trees, such as dead or diseased branches, and taking appropriate action to address them. It also includes ensuring that any work carried out on the trees is done in a safe and responsible manner, and that safety precautions are taken. If these standards are not met and negligence is proved, it may result in a claim for damages being made.
Who is Liable
A tree owner is liable for negligence when they fail to take reasonable care to ensure that their tree does not cause harm to another person or their property. This includes failing to inspect the tree for signs of disease or decay, failing to prune or trim the tree, or failing to prevent the tree from falling. The tree owner may also be liable if they fail to warn others of any potential danger posed by the tree. This is why it is crucial to have a professional conduct a regular health and safety assessment.
Quantified Tree Risk Assessment
QTRA is a system designed to quantify the risk of significant harm from tree failures to enable land owners and managers to balance safety against costs, whilest maintaining the value offered by trees.
A risk rating is given to a tree, taking into account the target, the size of the tree and the probability of failure.
